So a few days ago Aston Martin finally released the first official images of the new Lagonda, a limited edition luxury saloon that’s been in the works for years. The standard Lagonda is a tasty looking car, but it’s not a flexible design, judging by these speculative renderings of its Shooting Brake version.

The Shooting Brake body style has become quite popular in recent years and with good reason, as it introduces more practicality to the mix without compromising the styling. If anything, a Shooting Brake body style is classier than a normal sedan.

That is not true about this Aston Martin Lagonda Shooting Brake, however. For one thing, we don’t see the point it, because the Lagonda is not the sort of car you take your kids to school or soccer practice in, so the need for a big boot is non-existent. The main reason you wouldn’t want this car is, well, it looks like a hearse, doesn’t it?

So in conclusion, unless you want your last car ride on earth be a luxurious one, it is hard to make a case for Aston Martin Lagonda Shooting Brake. Thank God it is just a rendering!
