In every petrolhead’s dream garage, and we all have one, there is a spot permanently reserved for the Lancia Stratos. Ordinary people don’t get this, of course, because to them a car that’s built poorly and has a driving position suitable only for an octopus does not deserve such high status. The video after the jump may change their views and let them see the light.

Lancia Stratos HF is powered by a mid-mounted 190 bhp Ferrari V6 engine from the Dino. The racing and rally models got a turbo version of the same unit with up to 280 horsepower. But performance has always been the secondary attraction of the Stratos. The main reason it is such a loveable car is first, its iconic design, and second its motorsport pedigree.
