Earlier today we showed you this rendering of a roadster version of the all-new Mercedes AMG GT. That looked great, but it was kind of pointless as Mercedes has said they are not going to make an open-top AMG GT. This one, though, they will make. This is the Mercedes AMG GT Black Series.
Rendered here with uncanny resemblance to a real car, this Mercedes AMG GT Black Series uses the styling cues from the existing SLS Black to show us what the upcoming super car may look like. Granted, knowing AMG, they will probably come up with something new to separate the Black GT from the SLS. But based on what you can see here they really don’t have to. The car would look great with the same old bits and bobs.
Mechanically, the 2016/17 Mercedes AMG GT Black Series will get a beefed-up version of the GT-S 4.0 liter biturbo V8 engine. Seeing as it makes 510 horsepower in non-Black guise, you can expect a max power output of nearly 600 hp from the Black Series. Stiffer suspension, bigger brakes, revised electronics, and as you can see here, an aero kit would be among the other changes over the standard model.
