In one of the most epic driving tours Porsche has ever organized, 14 teams travelled 1,500 kilometers from the Black Sea to the Caspian Sea in the new Porsche Cayenne S. Along the way the gave the Porsche SUV a good workout on some pretty rough terrain and it conquered them all without breaking a sweat. 

The participants in Porsche Performance Drive Black Sea-Caspian Sea adventure covered the distance between the two great seas in Central Asia through Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan, encountering some of the world’s most breathtaking landscapes on the way. They brought the gallery below as a souvenir for the rest us.

Porsche Cayenne S is better known as a sporty and performance-minded SUV more at home on the German Autobahns than the mountain passes and valleys of Georgia and Turkey. The truth is, the Cayenne is an astonishingly capable both on and off the road. Its off-road capabilities are often less publicized, because most people who buy this car are rich soccer moms who use it for school run and getting groceries.

The new Porsche Cayenne S is powered by a 3.6-litre V6 twin turbo, which replaces the old V8, developing 420 hp and 550Nm of torque.
