Lamborghini Asterion Goes Alfresco in New Rendering

Lamborghini Asterion Hybrid concept is a strange car. It is a rather ordinary-looking – by Lambo’s standards – design study  powered by a sensible hybrid powertrain. Except it’s not sensible at all, as it makes 910 horsepower. And Lambo’s boss has said he doesn’t like it very much!

So the chances of this the Asterion getting into production some day are quite slim. At best, a version of its hybrid technology might be used in future production models. Still, designers around the world have been quite keen to work on the Asterion since its introduction and they don’t seem to be able to stop messing around with it.

So here’s a new rendering of Lamborghini Asterion in which the hybrid super car goes topless, or Spyder in Lambo terminology. It certainly looks a lot more dramatic than the hardtop version, but it is now even less plausible than before. What’s more, that shape doesn’t seem awfully aerodynamic; at least for a car with 910 horsepower!

If we;re honest, we much prefer this wide body Asterion to the open-top version.
