Fresh details emerged this weekend regarding Michael Schumacher’s skiing accident which left the seven-time Formula 1 world champion in coma for months. According to French F1 commentator and a well-known figure in the sport, Jean-Louis Moncet, Schumi was injured by the mounting of the GoPro camera on his helmet.
It has not been confirmed yet, but Moncet has talked with Michael’s son, Mick, who has relayed the information about the cause of the injury. He’s also revealed that his father is ‘very slowly’ waking.
“I saw his son and he told me that Schumi is waking up very slowly; very slowly,” said Moncet. “Although things are going at a slow pace, he (Schumacher) has a lot of time, I would say his whole life in front of him to get back on track.”
Recently, doctors deemed Michael’s condition stable enough for him to leave the hospital and continue his recovery at his estate near Lake Geneva. As for the GoPro causing the brain damage, the company has not made any official statement, but we sense there will be an investigation.
