Following the footsteps of the greatest Formula 1 driver of all time, and his personal hero and mentor Michael Schumacher, German F1 champ Sebastian Vettel made his official debut as a driver for Scuderia Ferrari. Red suits the young German.

Just like the big Schumi, Vettel comes to Ferrari having established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the world of Formula 1, the world title of which he has won four times. This past season Vettel’s performance wasn’t really up to the expectations, proving that success in F1 has 90 percent to do with the car and only 10 percent with the driver. But still, Seb’s Ferrari move was a ballsy one. He has singed a three year contract with the Italians which is said to make him the best paid driver in the sport.

Sebastian Vettel made his Ferrari debut driving a 2012 car around the company’s private test track Fiorano. The engineers are hard at work developing a new car for him for 2015 season, in the hope that the combination of fresh blood and a totally redesigned car will put an end to the cycle of defeat Ferrari has been suffering from for the past seven years. The Scuderia’s last notable F1 moment was Kimi Raikonnen’s 2007 world title.

Speaking of Kimi, he is also a part of the 2015 Ferrari lineup. He is expected to get along with Sebastian much better than he did with former teammate Fernando Alonso, who is now headed to McLaren. Kimi and Sebastian are good pals who enjoy good-natured rivalry.
