As an answer to Ford’s own Shelby GT350R, Shelby American unveiled their idea of a hot Mustang GT in form of the 2015 Shelby GT Mustang. This car may not look as aggressive as the 350, but it packs a bigger punch.

Just like the 350R, the Shelby GT Mustang is based on the 2015 GT model powered by the famous 5.0 liter V8 engine. What they have done is add a Ford Racing Supercharger unit, sport exhaust system, and software. These changes will boost the output of the five-point-o from 430 to 630 horsepower. There is also a performance package available which will increase the oomph to 700 horsepower.

Shelby American has also gone to the trouble of upgrading the chassis and suspension with stuff like Ford Racing handling pack, upgraded shocks, springs and sway bars, even a short shifter. These revisions were necessary to make sure the Mustang won’t fall to pieces if and when the driver decided to use all of that 700 horses. They haven’t mentioned anything about the brakes, but we hope there is some sort of upgrade available for that as well.

Available as a package for all Mustang GTs, the 2015 Shelby GT Mustang also comes with a few aero tweaks, including carbon fiber hood, mirrors, and rear spoiler, plus some carbon interior garnish, sill plates, and a set of special 20-inch wheels. Prices start from $39,995.
