You may not have heard of the Porsche 997 RGT, but that’s because it’s a personal project created by rally meister, Richard Tuthill. The purpose of this post is to get you acquainted with the car and the man, and also to let you enjoy some exciting rally action, courtesy of the fine driving skills of one Chris Harris.
So here’s Harris in the Porsche 997 RGT, attacking the slippery roads of Walter’s Arena test stage in Wales, in the cold of December:
Porsche is not really known as a rally brand, which is weird actually, as their rally heritage is almost as glorious as their track racing history. The most famous Porsche rally car is, probably, the 959 Dakar fighter. But over the years there have been many different 911 rally car, doing rather great in various competitions they entered. the 997 RGT wants to become one of these greats.
