Dodge’s new year gift to their fans is a showcase of what their cars do best. These guys are in the business of making muscles. And muscle cars, as you know, are pretty much useless at most normal tasks a car should be able to perform, but absolutely brilliant at being a hooligan – which of course means they are massive fun.
One act of hooliganism Dodge cars are particularly good at is pulling off awesome burnouts. So here’s a collection of Hellcat burnouts, performed by the new Challenger and Charger Hellcat models, celebrating the new year:
Hellcat engine main characteristics: The supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat engine produces 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque, making it the most powerful V-8 ever and the most powerful muscle car ever. It features a forged-steel crankshaft with induction-hardened bearing surfaces, high-strength, forged-alloy pistons, developed using advanced telemetry measurement, and premium-grade, heat-treated aluminum-alloy cylinder heads, which are optimized for superior thermal conductivity. The Hellcat can be mated to a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic or the proven six-speed manual transmission, and works in tandem with a five-mode electronic drive mode system. Brembo brakes were needed to reign in the fury of this magnificent engine in both the Charger and the Challenger.
