Just like the new 991 GT3 RS, Porsche just can’t be bothered to keep the Cayman GT4 a secret anymore. They are still testing the car, but they don’t feel the need to cover up and disguise it. Everybody already knows about the hotted-up Porsche Cayman GT4!
So it doesn’t come as a surprise that the GT4 was recently caught on the Autobahn, probably in the midst of a high-speed test. The wing’d Cayman is supposed to be a hard-core version of the sports car and so Porsche engineers need to make sure it is quite a bit faster than the standard model.
The most striking feature of the Porsche Cayman GT4 seems to be its aero kit, which gives the car a whole new look compared to the regular models. It features a big wing at the back and more pronounced front spoiler and rear diffuser. It is, after all, a track car and all those parts are designed with aerodynamic efficiency in mind. It’s just a bonus that they also look so cool.
In terms of engine, Porsche Cayman GT4 is said to be getting a beefed-up version of the flat-six in the Cayman S. Some reports put its output close to 450 horsepower, which means the GT4 could potentially harm the 911’s market, maybe even the the GT3.
