Ferrari caused quite a stir when they introduced the new 488 GTB a week ago with new looks and a twin-turbo V8 engine. Since then we have seen renderings of this car in Spider bodystyle and also in track guise. They both made complete sense. But here is one that doesn’t: the Ferrari 488 FXX.
Not that Evren Milano’s Ferrari 488 FXX is not completely awesome or anything less than spectacular to look at. But the fact is Ferrari is not going to make an FXX version of the 488, so this whole thing is an exercise in futility.
Still, this Ferrari 488 FXX could give many ideas to tuners and body kit makers. Granted, it looks way too showy and boy racer-ish to appeal to the traditional Ferrari aficionado. But there are some design elements in there that could potentially enhance the looks of the standard 488 GTB. We particularly like those FXX-K-inspired rear wings.
The FXX Ferraris, for those who don’t know, are track cars built exclusively for the company’s customer racing program or Corse Clienti. They can only be used in a number of track day events Ferrari organizes throughout the year. The Corse Clienti lineup currently includes the Enzo FXX and 599XX, soon to be joined by LaFerrari FXX-K.
