McLaren 675LT 0 600x364 at McLaren 675LT Officially Unveiled

With only a few days to go until the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, McLaren reveals their second big debut after the P1 GTR. The new McLaren 675LT (LongTail) is a beautified, enhanced version of the 650S, and it is the fastest production McLaren this side of the P1.

The track-focused McLaren 675LT is built as an homage to the McLaren ‘Longtail’ race cars and to emphasize that it actually features a long tail. The car has a 50 percent bigger air brake spoiler thingy at the back which in spite of its size is lighter than the one on the 650S. The whole car in fact weighs 1,230kg, which is remarkable.

The M838TL 3.8-litre V8 engine is also improved for use in the McLaren 675LT – with new cylinder heads and exhaust manifolds, new camshaft and lightweight connecting rods, and a faster-flowing fuel pump – now developing 675 PS and 700 Nm of torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 7 Speed SSG transmission. Performance-wise, the LT can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph).

In terms of styling, McLaren 674LT is distinguished over the 650S by the virtue of its big air brake, circular twin titanium exhaust pipes, and never seen before colors including Silica White, Delta Red, Napier Green and Chicane Grey. Inside you will find a pair of ultra lightweight carbon fibre-shelled bucket seats, upholstered in Alcantara, and a tone of LT badges!
