It is not exactly a secret that BMW X3 is not blessed with the “charm” genes of which other BMW models have plenty. It is a rather boring car, partly because it’s so ugly, and partly because of the nature of the segment it belongs to. But do not despair, because there are ways around this issue.

A few days ago we showed you a BMW X3 M Performance Kit from Abu Dhabi, customized and fully-tricked out with M Parts and a few components from renowned European BMW tuners. That car looks a lot more interesting than the standard, but if we’re honest, it has room for improvement.

That’s where this comes in: a full-blooded BMW X3 M. This one not only boasts a cool and sporty body kit and huge wheels, it also packs a much bigger punch thanks to, probably, the same 430 horsepower engine that power the BMW M3/M4. The only problem with this car is that… well, it’s not real. It’s just a rendering. A flight of fancy.

It is a very good flight of fancy though, and one that makes a lot of sense. By giving the X3 the ‘M’ treatment and making it fast and exciting, BMW can attract more customers to this dull SUV – people who wouldn’t consider buying a standard X3 in a million years.
