Porsche 991 Turbo Becomes Art with HRE Wheels

You can keep your GT3 RS with its plastic bits. We are still fondly in love with the way the Porsche 991 Turbo looks, especially when it is tweaked a little bit with a set of classy wheels. That is exactly what’s happened here thanks to HRE Wheels and the guys from Wheels Boutique.

Granted, the GT3 and GT3 RS has pizzazz and panache, what with their massive wings, large splitters, and buffed-up fenders. But there is a kind of discreet sexiness to the styling of the Porsche 991 Turbo that we find very attractive. Those clear taillights, for example; they don’t seem like much of a styling feature, but they make a huge difference in the car’s appearance.

The same goes for the HRE P103 wheels installed on this Porsche 991 Turbo in Brushed Dark Clear. On the face of it they look pretty ordinary and with not much joie de vivre. But like the car they are bolted on to, they look super classy and extremely cool, mainly because they don’t have to show-offy.

This particular 991 Turbo, which is an S model, also appears to be wearing the exclusive Turbo Aerokit Porsche released a while back for this car. The engine powering this $180K bad boy is a 560 horsepower turbocharged 3.8-litre six-cylinder with direct petrol injection mated to a seven-speed Doppelkupplung (PDK).
