Galpin Auto Sports and Henrik Fisker have not yet made up their mind if they want to produce the Aston Martin Thunderbolt concept, let alone making a convertible version of it. But since the car is based on the Aston Vanquish, it sounds like a completely doable thing.
So with all that in mind, X-Tomi Design has come up with this superb rendering of Aston Martin Thunderbolt Volante to both show us what it might look like, and to give GAS and Mr Fisker a push to go ahead and accept orders for this beautiful creation.
Unveiled at the Amelia Island Concours, the Thunderbolt is a heavily customized and face-lifted Vanquish featuring a bespoke carbon body and a revised cabin featuring some interesting equipment such as a curved infotainment screen and leather bottle holders. As much as we like the coupe version, we have to admit this imaginary open-top Aston Martin Thunderbolt Volante is a much cooler proposition.
Also at Amelia, GAS and Fisker revealed the Mustang Rocket, a sort of coachbuilt version of the 2015 Ford Mustang with a 720 horsepower engine. This one is being produced, but in strictly limited number and at a pretty steep price.
