Seeing a Camaro on a race track in Europe used to mean only one thing: British Touring Car Championship. But that was a long time ago. These days the only muscle car you can see in the European motorsport scene is this Camaro GT3 made by Sareni, a division of Reiter Engineering.
Sareni’t Camaro GT3 is a complete beast though. It shows what European engineers can do when they have an American-sized engine to play with. Before we tell you about the specs of this car though, check out its mean looks and dirty sound in this video by Marchettino:
Camaro GT3 race car is powered by a big block V8 machined to 7.9 liter. As you would expect from such massive displacement, the power output is mind-bending. This car 650 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque. And that’s only because of GT3 regulations. Left to its own devices, this engine can easily pass 1,000 hp.
Other highlights of Camaro GT3 include a tailor-made aero kit for the not-so-aerodynamic shape of the Gen 5 Camaro, featuring larger than usual front splitter, rear diffuser, and rear wing, a bespoke GT3 cabin, and racing slicks.
