Porsche offers a very wide selection of color combos and racing liveries for their flagship super car, the 918 Spyder. That is precisely why it is so cool to see one of these cars in a plain and simple color. It takes guts to look past all those tempting colors and order your Porsche 918 in a solid shade of red.
The owner of this Porsche 918 was apparently torn between choosing this or the LaFerrari. So in the end he decided to go for the Porsche, but ordered it in the traditional Ferrari red color. It was definitely the right call, as the 918 looks absolutely superb in this one-tone paint work – just as it does in orange.
As a reminder, Porsche 918 Spyder is powered by a hybrid system consisting of a 4.6 liter V8 engine from the RS Spyder LMP1 race car and two electric motors. Together they make 887 horsepower which is used by a super advanced four-wheel-drive system and traction control to catapult the car from 0 to 100 km/h in about 2.7 seconds and on to a top speed of around 350 km/h. It also makes the 918 faster, around Laguna Seca at least, than the McLaren P1.
