Restomoding is definitely our new favorite thing because the simple fact of the matter is a restomoded classic car is more usable than a restored classic car. Purists, of course, do not agree with that, which is why we lined up this superb Corvette C1 restomod here to drive our point home.

What you get with this car is all the awesome looks of the original C1 with the usability of a reasonably modern car. In short, the best of both worlds. A restored classic, no matter how lovingly and meticulously it’s been done, is still an old car with old car technology. Restomoding is classic car motoring without any of the usual classic car motoring pains.

In preparing this Corvette C1 restomod they have maintained some elements of the original design, such as the chrome mini bumpers, and altered some of the others, such as the front grille, for the sake of a sleeker look. The car is also lowered, nay, slammed on a set of brushed/tinted clear HRE P101 wheels. Those wheels are the only sign to let an untrained eye know this car has modern underpinnings.
