Porsche has always been quick to thank their fans whenever they hit a major milestone on the social media. Now celebrating 10 million Facebook fans in the United Kingdom, they have dispatched a Porsche 918 Spyder to tour the country and thank people in person.

This kind of reminds us of the Wowbagger character in Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, only that guy’s job was to travel around and insult people. At any rate, it seems like a lot less faff than creating another one-off model that would spend all of its life gathering dust in a museum.

Accompanying the Porsche 918 Spyder in the UK road trip is Facebook fan Ingo Vandenberghe who won the opportunity to be the driver of the hyper car. The car is also joined by a top of the line Porsche Panamera as well as a range-topping Porsche Cayenne, presumably as support vehicles.

Britain is absolutely gorgeous whenever the sun is shining on it, which unfortunately isn’t often. The sun was kind to the organizers of this road trip though, at least for the first day, enabling them to capture some beautiful photos of the 918 out and about in London. Everywhere the car goes people seem to be signing its doors, which is cool, but a bugger if they don’t wash off.
