In the last few months Porsche released two extremely hot new model, both of which received a warm welcome from the public. We are talking about the new Cayman GT4 and the Boxster Spyder. The next legal step would be to mix the two and create a lava-hot Porsche Boxster Spyder GT4!

And that is exactly what Porsche AG is up to, reportedly. Emboldened by the success of the aforementioned models, especially the Cayman GT4 which is hailed by many as the greatest sports car of the 21st century, Porsche wants to squeeze every last bit of juice this recipe has to offer.

Whichever way you look at it, Porsche Boxster Spyder GT4 makes an awful lot of sense. First of all, the Boxster and the Cayman are the same cars underneath. What’s more, all the engineering work has been done. They have worked out how the Spyder should be like, and they already have the GT4’s 3.8-litre engine. It is just a matter of bolting things together really.

Porsche Boxster Spyder GT4 could potentially be a helluva car as it mixes the extreme light weight with big power. That is always going to be fun. But it makes choosing the right Porsche even harder than before. What’s more, there are rumors flying around that Porsche is also working on an RS version of the Cayman GT4, which will make things even more confusing.
