It is not clear yet if Audi is going to released a GT version of the new generation R8, let alone a Spyder version of that car. Even if they are, it would take at least three years for the car to be ready. But that didn’t stop Jon Sibal to go ahead and pen what he thinks the next Audi R8 GT Spyder might look like.
It was probably an easy job for Sibal, since the new R8 looks fairly similar to the one it replaced. That means all the different variants such as Spyder, GT, GT3 and LM, will follow the same recipe and look almost identical to their predecessor.
On that basis, this is what the future Audi R8 GT Spyder, if they ever make one, will appear before your eyes. The car features a sports grille along with new intake adorned with carbon elements, lowered ride height, larger wheels, carbon pillar, mirror caps, and side vents, and although you can’t see it in this picture, a fixed carbon fiber rear wing as well.
Audi R8 GT Spyder was one of the rarest and most coveted variants of the old R8, boasting 560 horsepower from a V10 engine and 85 kilograms (187.39 lb) less weight compared to normal models. That enabled the GT to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and reache a top speed of 317 km/h (196.97 mph).
