Adding even more variety to the extensive 911 range, Porsche announced the launch of a new special edition version of the 991 Carrera. Simply called the Porsche 911 Carrera Black Edition, this version comes with lots of, well, black stuff. The same treatment is also available for the Boxster.
If we cut right to the chase, Porsche 911 Carrera Black Edition features, on the outside, a deep metallic paint job and 20-inch 911 Turbo alloy wheels, and on the inside automatically dimming rear-view mirrors, rain sensing windscreen wipers, cruise control and Sport Design steering wheel.
The Black is also fairly feature rich, boasting LED headlights including the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+), driver and passenger sit on heated seats – with the Porsche crest embossed on the head restraints – and standard Bose Surround Sound System, plus park assist which includes a reversing camera.
Powering the Porsche 911 Carrera Black Edition is a 3.4 liter flat-six engine with 350 horsepower. The car is offered as coupé and convertible versions, and with rear-wheel drive or Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive. You have to decide whether to go for the black stuff or spend the same sort of money on a standard but more powerful Carrera S.
