As usual, Sport Auto is the first motoring publication to get hold of a brand-new German model for a thorough test. So immediately they dispatched their top man Christian Gebhardt to Hockenheim to put the Porsche 991 GT3 RS through its paces. Here’s a little taster of how the car gets on when you introduce it to some corners.

What’s more, Gebhardt does a few launch control starts which put in perspective the agility and also the sweet soundtrack of the Porsche 991 GT3 RS, and to finish things off takes the car from 0 to 300 km/h in one rather short take:

Powering the Porsche 991 GT3 RS is a flat-six engine with 500 horsepower, mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission. That is the same setup as the regular GT3, except for the power. The RS triumphs over its “normal” sibling by being lighter, tauter, and more focused. It comes with less luxury amenities and soundproofing, as well as stiffer suspension and a bespoke aero kit including large front splitter, wide side sills, rear diffuser with central tailpipe, ducktail spoiler, and rear wing. Another highlight of the RS is its special locking differential which results in spot-on power delivery and makes the car an absolute weapon on the race track.
