The work is underway on a new version of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. According to the reports and rumors emerging from Maranello, the new model is called the Ferrari F12 GTO which, knowing the old 599, must mean it’s a more powerful, slightly revised, limited edition version of the existing model.
That latest member of Ferrari’s GTO family is said to be lighter than the Berlinetta by at least a 100 kg. The same report claims Ferrari F12 GTO will be packing 780 horsepower, which is of course 40 more than the normal model.
The combination reduced weight and added power will of course make the new car even faster than the standard F12 which is already biblically fast. This shows that Ferrari don’t listen, or just don’t care, what motoring journalists have been saying since the F12 first came out: that it’s too powerful for its own good.
Power and performance aside, Ferrari F12 GTO will also benefit from revised styling, most likely in form of new bumpers and more pronounced aero parts. Production will be limited, and the price tag massive.
