It seems like a long time since we first heard that Jaguar has green-lighted the production of the SUV concept C-X17. But now it’s finally, almost, ready and as you probably know it is called the Jaguar F-Pace. The new teaser is a hint at the SUV’s imminent debut, probably at the Goodwood Festival of Speed but no later than IAA.
Now, a lot of people, us included, were hoping the production Jaguar F-Pace would look less like the XJ/XF/XE family and more like the F-Type. But sadly that is not the case. The F-Pace does indeed look like a high-riding hatchback XF. Not that it’s a bad look, far from it. But it would better if it were more like the F-Type. Come to think of it, anything would be better it they looked like the F-Type!

Just like its sedan siblings, Jaguar F-Pace will feature a lot of aluminum in its unibody chassis and gets a wide range of engines, from frugal Ingenium diesels to, hopefully, supercharged V8s in the range-topping versions. In terms of off-road capabilities, there is little doubt that Jaguar will make use of the technologies developed by their sister company Land Rover. So it’s going to be good.
