Yesterday we told you about the specs and details of the all-new Ford 5.2 liter V8 engine that powers the new Shelby GT350. So we know about the numbers, but what this engine is like in action? And just as important, what does it sound like?
You will find the answer to these questions in the following video, showing a Shelby GT350 in company of a more potent GT350R on the race track. The cars looks pretty agile in negotiating those tight and technical corners, they seem potent in straight line, and crucially, they sounds absolutely awesome!
The flat-cranked 5.2 liter V8 unit designed for the Shelby GT350 has a lightweight, die-cast aluminum case and clutch housing as well as hollow-stem intake valves and sodium-filled exhaust valves, working in tandem with a fast-acting 87-millimeter throttle body. All that means you get 526 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft. of torque which is a very decent amount for a naturally aspirated 5.2 liter motor.
