The Catalunya circuit in Barcelona, Spain, recently hosted the press day event for the new Lamborghini Aventador SV SuperVeloce in which the world’s top motoring journalists got to drive the Italian beast flat out on the race track. This is Autocar’s account of what the SV is like to drive, and we’re featuring it mainly because it offers a proper look at the car in Verde Ithaca.

This unique shade of green is one of the most popular colors for any Lambo, especially one as powerful and expensive as the Lamborghini Aventador SV.

So just to remind ourselves of the technical specs of the Lamborghini Aventador SV, the car comes with a 6.0 liter V12 engine that is boosted in this model to 740 horsepower, and it is mated to a single-clutch ISR transmission. The SV is lighter than the normal Aventador and also benefits from self-locking differential at the rear axle and an electronic differential lock at the front is controlled by the ESP, as well as a new Dynamic steering system. As a result, the  Superveloce accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.8 seconds and powers on to reach a top speed of more than 350 km/h (more than 217 mph), and it is also better at negotiating bends than its 700-hp sibling.
