Although it is now the LP-750 SuperVeloce that is the range-topping Lamborghini Aventador, for us the LP-720 50th Anniversary special edition remains the coolest version of the Italian supercar. We think it looks better than the SV, and with only a 100 units produced the Aventador 50th Anniversary is also rarer.

So that is why it is always a big deal when one of these cars is spotted out in the wild. This time the Lamborghini Aventador 50th Anniversary rears its head from France, wearing a cool red paint job garnished with a unique stripe, first seen on the Gallardo Peformante, gloss black wheels, and black aero parts. It looks awesome.

As the more eagle-eyed readers among you have already noticed, this Aventador 50th Anniversary is a Roadster version which makes it even cooler. The two-piece carbon fiber roof is far from the most elegant solution, but they are handy and the car still looks pretty great when you remove them. The new SuperVeloce is also getting a Roadster version, as seen in these leaked photos.

Performance-wise, Lamborghini Aventador 50th Anniversary is powered by a 720 horsepower version of the .5-liter twelve-cylinder engine, hence the LP-720 designation. Distributed between all four wheels via a fast-shifting ISR transmission, that power enables the Aventa to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 350 km/h.
