Our younger readers will remember Miami Vice as that cool 2006 movie with Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx. But the original Miami Vice was an 80s TV series starring Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas. This gorgeous 1986 Ferrari Testarossa that is now up fro grabs is from the TV show.
That doesn’t diminish in any way our desire to own such a gem, even though we always wondered how in the world can a cop afford a Ferrari. Resprayed in white at the request of Director Michael Mann who wanted the car to be more visible in night scenes, this Ferrari Testarossa has only 16,124 authenticated miles on the clock and has recently been given an engine-out service at a cost of $8,000.
Speaking of the engine, Ferrari Testarossa is powered by a 4.9 liter, 390-horsepower flat-12 engine, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox with the a super cool gated shifter. Other highlights of the car include beige leather interior, power windows, power locks, power seats, cruise control and air conditioning.
Miami Vice Testarossa will be sold at the Mecum Daytime Auction in Monterey. You can already tell the car is going to fetch a high price as bidding on it alone costs $100 per person.
