This is Ford being incredibly mean again. After the car’s dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the hands of former Stig ben Collins, they took the new Shelby GT350R Mustang, which is NOT available in Europe, to London to see the public’s reaction to this charming American redneck.
And it was all well until they started it up. Turns out Londoners love the aesthetics of the Shelby GT350R, as you can tell by the sheer number of people wanting to take their pictures with it. But it seems they don’t appreciate how damn loud this thing is. You can’t really blame them for not liking loud sports cars though. Every Summer they have to put up with a bunch of Arabs taking over the streets of London with their super loud super cars. Even the most hard-core petrolhead would go mad if they have to listen to loud exhaust noises day in and day out.
FYI, the 2016 Shelby GT350R Mustang is powered by a new 5.2-liter dual-overhead-cam V8 engine with a flat-plane crankshaft developing over 520 hp and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. It is lighter, tauter, and stiffer than the normal GT350 and is designed as a fairly affordable track day car.
