Lexus released details and pictures of a new and slightly revised version of the 2016 modelyear ES series. Both the 2016 Lexus ES 350 and ES 300h hybrid gets refreshed exterior and interior with a more grown-up, fancy look and benefit from even more luxury amenities than before.

The main highlights of the exterior for 2016 Lexus ES include a bolder, one-piece Spindle front grille with satin chrome frame, standard LED headlights, sportier bumpers, L-themed taillights and new chrome-tipped rectangular exhaust ports, plus new optional 17-inch wheels. The Hybrid version meanwhile gets standard 17-inch wheels, a trunk lip spoiler, hidden exhaust pipe and blue hybrid badges. There are four new body colors for both models.

Inside the cabin, new interior colors and color coordination, soft-touch materials added to the console and silver-trimmed piano black door switch plates are among the main highlights. 2016 Lexus ES can be specified with Linear Dark Mocha, Illustrious Piano Black (replaces Piano Black) and Bamboo with a matte finish (replaces gloss finish). Both models also get a new steering wheel with a sportier look and feel.

Mechanically, no changes have been applied to either model. The ES 350 comes with a 3.5 liter V6 unit developing 270 PS while the ES 300h gets a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 2.5 liter four-pot and an electric motor with a combined output of 200 PS. However, both model get the new Lexus Safety System+ which includes items like 10 standard airbags, Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA) with Steering Assist, Intelligent High Beam (IHB) and High-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.
