The new 2016 Audi A4 was introduced only a few days ago, but already the car has been the subject of many a renderings, getting turned into all sort of cool stuff including RS4 sedan, RS4 Avant, and now a high-riding, off-road Avant, better known as Audi A4 Allroad.
As with the previous generations, the proposed new Audi A4 Allroad is a somewhat peculiar thing. The idea makes perfect sense. It’s an A4 Avant with raised suspension, larger wheels, and off-road bumpers, sills, and tough cladding on the bottom half of the body that makes it more versatile. And of course, the car benefits from Audi’s renowned quattro all-wheel-drive system.
Trouble is, if you want the qualities mentioned above you go and buy a SUV like a Q3 or a Q5. They offer pretty much the same practicality as the Audi A4 Allroad and are just as efficient, and they don’t look like they’ve been put together by Dr. Frankenstein. The Allroad additions to the exterior of the A4 might be useful and practical, but my God they are ugly!
