The current generation of Porsche 911, known as the 991, has one of the richest, most diverse lineups in history. So it is only natural if some fine model among them doesn’t get the attention it deserves. Porsche 991 Targa 4S is indeed one of them.
It doesn’t come as a surprise that an over-priced Carrera 4S with a needlessly complicated roof mechanism is overshadowed by the likes of the 991 Turbo, Turbo S, GTS, GT3, and GT3 RS. But if exclusivity is what you are after, Porsche 991 Targa 4S is the 911 for you. This thing is a lot rarer than even the new RS model. We’ve seen plenty of RS’s knocking about since its launch. But the Targa is still a rare sight a year after its release.
To help you get acquainted with the Porsche 991 Targa 4S and what it offers we put together these nice live shots of the car on the street and a video of it in action. We still think the roof mechanism is stupid, but there is no denying the Targa is a classy car.
