If you read the spec sheet for Ferrari 488 GTB, it says that the top speed of the car is 205 mph or 330 km/h. But as an owner found out when he took his GTB to the Autobahn for a blast, Ferrari may have been a bit modest there. The car can actually do more than 340 km/h.
What is more impressive than the top speed itself is the rapidity with which the speedometer climbs. One would imagine that with a couple of little tweaks one could enable the Ferrari 488 GTB to go past 350 km/h, thus making this run-of-the-mill super car as fast as stuff like LaFerrari or McLaren P1.
To achieve that amazing turn of speed, Ferrari 488 GTB relies on a brand-new 3.9 liter twin-turbo V8 engine with a power output of 660 horsepower and peak torque of 561 lb-ft. The power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with manual shifting mode and an electronic differential which works in tandem with a five-way traction control system. Acceleration-wise, the GTB can make 100 from zero in 3.0 seconds dead and go past 200 six seconds later.
