McLaren Automotive has released a picture yet another bespoke P1 MSO they have finished for a special customer. This one is done by McLaren Special Operations in a marvelous two-tone paint finish with a deep purple base and Volcano Orange detailing.
Now, maybe we need to go see an eye doctor, but this McLaren P1 MSO looks plain black to us. McLaren seems to be getting their colors mixed up a lot lately, as we saw with the Pebble Beach-bound one-off MSO 570S. That car is obviously purple, but they say it’s a unique shade of blue. By that reasoning, this must be their idea of color purple.
Regardless, it’s a pretty awesome color this P1 MSO is sporting, and those orange detailing make it absolutely unique in the world. Granted, it’s just a bit of paint and the design is nothing your local wrapper can’t manage. But that’s how it is with the McLaren P1. You can’t go mess up the body work on this car, because it has precise aerodynamics and, in any case, you’ll end up ruining the looks. So playing around with colors and accents is all the owners can do to feel better about spending well over a million dollars on the P1!
