Lexus’s new 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is now officially available in the GS model. To make its debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance, the 2016 Lexus GS 200t joins the 350 and 450h models in the range, giving customers a frugal yet potent new engine option.
So let’s get right to the numbers and see what sort of figures Lexus GS 200t delivers, beginning with the power. You get 241 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque from this 2.0 liter, both of which are excellent figures. But that best number is probably the highway fuel consumption which is 33 mpg. It’s not the best in the segment, but when you realize the more expensive GS 450h hybrid manages only 34 mpg, it sounds pretty good.
The 2016 Lexus GS 200t come with a number of styling modifications also featured on the rest of the lineup. There is a revised spindle grille with satin chrome trim, Bi-LED headlights, new front bumper and rocker panel design, revised rear trim, and new 18- and 19-inch machine-finish wheel designs. F SPORT package available for all three GS models, adding items such as sport suspension, sport interior trims, and an aggressive body kit.
As a reminder, the Lexus GS 350 features a V6 engine with 311 hp and 280 lb.-ft. of torque, while the GS 450h hybrid packs 338 total system horsepower.
