Porsche Exclusive has come up with an exclusive new version of the 991 Targa 4S called the Mayfair edition. It’s a British-flavored 911 with a British name, but it was built as a tribute to the Targa Florio road race in Sicily, which Porsche won eleven times.

That record will remain intact for ever as Targa Florio was canceled 1977 after the authorities deemed it too dangerous, even by Italian standards. The event inspired the creation of the original Porsche 911 Targa which is featured in this video next to the Porsche 991 Targa Mayfair Edition:

On the surface, Porsche 991 Targa Mayfair Edition does not appear to be any different from the other Targa models. But Porsche aficionados will be quick to spot the retro seat upholstery with checkered cloth and the blacked-out FUCHS alloy wheels. But even if you miss all that, there are Mayfair Edition door sills that will let you know this car is not a run-of-the-mill 991.

Based on the Targa 4S, the Mayfair 911 is powered by a 400 horsepower flat-six engine and comes as standard with four-wheel-drive. It also has an electric Targa top that hides itself inside a shelf over the engine in an elaborate operation.
