So a few months after Aston Martin announced the launch of the new Lagonda in Europe and UK as well as the Middle East, the first example of the massive super saloon graces the streets of London with its presence. This is most likely the first right-hand-drive Aston Martin Lagonda ever built.
That, of course, doesn’t change what we think about Aston Martin Lagonda Taraf, which is it’s an over-priced, slightly uglier Rapide S designed to con rich idiots out of nearly seven hundred thousand British pounds.
Aston’s CEO, Dr Palmer, has other ideas about the car, naturally: “We anticipate very quick expressions of interest from customers around the world, many of whom will want to add Lagonda to their luxury and sports car collections. Aside from its confident style, many buyers will also recognise this Lagonda Taraf as a piece of automotive history, following in the tracks of its distinguished predecessor the William Towns Lagonda. I’m also particularly pleased that we have been able to engineer Lagonda for right-hand drive markets meaning, of course, that I’m sure we will see the car in use on Aston Martin’s ‘home ground’ of the UK in due course.”
