So yesterday Ferrari revealed the long awaited F12tdf and gave us the first official pictures of the car. As usual, they only dropped a few photos and they showed the car in yellow. The thing is, you haven’t really seen a new Ferrari until you’ve seen in red. So here’s the 2016 Ferrari F12tdf in Rosso Corsa red!
Limited to 799 units, Ferrari F12tdf is the car the F12 Berlinetta always wanted to be. That is to say, an ultra-powerful super coupe with enough electronic aids and fancy control system so that the user can actually use that power without getting themselves into too much trouble.
So while Ferrari F12tdf comes with more power than the Berlinetta – 780 horsepower against 740 – it also gets a number of innovative new features that will make it more drivable. First, there is all the new aerodynamic features that result in an unbelievable 87 percent increase in downforce compared with the standard car. Then there is the new rear wheel steering system they have nicked from Porsche, and a weight saving of almost 110 kg compared to the Berlinetta. The TDF is one of the most technologically advanced cars to come out of Maranello in recent years – even more so, one would argue, than the celebrated LaFerrari.
As for the looks, well, it certainly isn’t as restrained and understated as the normal F12. But it’s racy and aggressive and that, we suppose, is cool. At any rate, the F12tdf looks a lot better in red than yellow.
