H&H Classics is offering a very unique 1992 Ferrari F40 for sale at their forthcoming Duxford sale on October 14. This ‘Connolly’ F40 is apparently the only one in the world with its seats trimmed in tan aniline leather.
This car was ordered new by Francis John Connolly, the owner of the famous British firm who used to provide leather upholstery for the likes of Bentley and Aston Martin. But he didn’t like the standard Nomex-covered seats, so he decided to have the seats trimmed in Connolly leather, a decision supported by the factory.
The Connolly Ferrari F40 also features a leather-covered fuse-box cover, on which is an embossed stamp of the Connolly crest. Because all these changes are approved by Ferrari, the car was granted Ferrari Classiche certification in 2007. Other highlights of this car is that it has adjustable suspension and only 18,800 miles on the clock.
H&H expects this Ferrari F40 to fetch £750,000 to £800,000. Other notable classic Ferraris to be offered at this auction include a 1960 250 GT SWB and a 1967 275 GTB/4.
