Russian tuner TopCar, as you my know from our previous reports, now has a classic car division that buys, sells, and restores iconic vintage exotics. The latest addition to their collection is an absolutely stunning Ferrari 575M SuperAmerica, one of only 599 units produced.
Designed as the swan song for the lovely 550 Maranello series, Ferrari 575M SuperAmerica introduced a new type of roadster roof which is amazingly simple and effective. The car does not quality as a full drop-top, but it comes with a rotating carbon fiber roof which has a superbly quick operation and gives you access to plenty of fresh air and unlimited sky.
Another advantage of this roof arrangement for Ferrari 575M SuperAmerica is styling. Before this car Ferrari launched the 550 Barchetta with a fully foldable soft top. And it looked great, but not as good as the hardtop. With the SuperAmerica they struck a great balance between the two and arrived at a look that is not only easy on the eyes, it results in a classic design that will go down in history books as one of the all time greats.
Powered by a 540 horsepower V12 engine, Ferrari 575M SuperAmerica was one of the first models to get a F1-style automated manual gearbox with paddle shifters.
