If you love the mechanics of a classic Porsche 911 but hate the looks of it, then the old Flatnose 930 is the model you have to go for. And good news, because a great example of this car has been spotted on for sale at John Holland showroom in Sheffield, UK. This 1986 RUF Porsche 930 Flatnose is priced at £139,900.
That sounds to us like awesome value, since the 930 Flatnose is a rare collector’s car and because of the fact that this one if a RUF-tuned version with the BTR treatment. BTR stands for Group B rally spec, T for Turbo and R for RUF. So in a way, this bad boy is like a baby 959 with almost similar performance and, in our opinion, cooler design.
RUF Porsche 930 has undergone a major engine upgrade, with its flat-six motor upped in capacity from 3.3 to 3.4 liter and equipped with Mahle Pistons and connecting rods and 935 type camshafts, larger KKK K27 turbo, free flowing intercooler, new intake manifold and exhaust, and a larger oil cooler. The car is also fitted with a RUF aero kit and a set of RUF single piece forged wheels in sizes 9×17 and 10×17 on Dunlop SD Sport P40 tires front and rear.
Other goodies include an uprated Getrag gearbox, adjustable boost control and lowered suspension. Packing 374bhp (original 300bhp), the unique RUF Porsche 930 “Flatnose” can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds.
