Lamborghini has released a promotional video for their new rear-wheel-drive Huracan, emphasizing the advantages of the RWD in terms of driving fun. Turns out Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 is a completely different animal than its AWD sibling. It is more loose on the rear axle and therefore a lot more fun.
Of course, only the hard-core petrolheads truly understand why rear-wheel-drive is better than front- and all-wheel-drive. But this video does good job of highlighting some of them in understandable terms. To do that they strapped a racing driver in the Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 and sent it out to the race track.
The omission of all-wheel-drive system in the Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 has resulted in fundamental character differences between this and the normal model. In this car the weight distribution is biased 40% at the front / 60% at the rear, reducing inertia on the front axle. That is why it needed an entirely new power management set-up, encompassing modified suspension, new steering set-up and recalibrated stability and traction control. Those rear tires are going to get a lot of punishment from the 580 hp V10 engine!
