We have heard a lot about the technical excellence of the new 2016 Ford Focus RS. We’ve heard it’s the new Cosworth RS, a giant slayer, a blue collar speed machine. That’s all great, but you can’t really wrap your head around how good this car is until you see it in action.

And what a happy coincidence that we have just that here! This is the 2016 Ford Focus RS put through a 0 to 200 km/h acceleration test by the guys from Motorsport Magazine. This is a 350bhp all-wheel-drive hot hatch in action:

Powering the 2016 Ford Focus RS is a 2.3 liter EcoBoost turbo four-pot which it shares with the Mustang. It develops around 350 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque, sent to all four wheels via a twin electronically-controlled clutch packs on each side of the rear drive unit. The combination of that power, the AWD system, and advanced traction control which even include a drift mode, results in a brilliant driver’s car that is fun and engaging in all circumstances. The hot hatch has a starting price of around $37,000, but given all the hype and all the anticipation, the showroom prices will probably be a lot higher than that.
