While many people are pondering whether they should get the new 991 Turbo facelift, a man in Germany decided he wanted to stay loyal to his old Porsche 997 Turbo. That said, to keep things fresh he sent his car to Wimmer RST tuning center for a few modifications.

The mods may well be few in numbers, but they are very big and rich in substance. And the biggest substance-altering modification applied to the Wimmer Porsche 997 Turbo is what they have done to the engine. The twin-turbo flat-six engine in the 997 Turbo makes 480 horsepower and 620 Nm of torque in standard form. What Wimmer has done is swap the turbos for better units, change the spark plugs, pressure tubes, and fuel pumps, and install a stainless steel racing sports exhaust system with electronic valve command and sports catalysts.

The result of these upgrades is a huge gain – 840 horsepower and 870 Nm of torque, to be precise. With that kind of oomph now at its disposal, Wimmer Porsche 997 Turbo has a staggering top speed of 363 km/h and can reach 200 km/h from zero in just 10 seconds!

Complementing the awesome engine in this car is a series of performance and visual upgrades that enhance the driving experience of the 997. The main highlights include KW variant 3 coilovers, O.Z.-Ultraleggera rims (19 inch) with Michelin tires in sizes 235/35-19 and 305/30-19, and a gold matte wrap. Total cost of the upgrades come to 39,000 EUR for the engine and 7,500 EUR for the other parts.
