Following the car’s first introduction and then formal debut, GM is now ready to drop detailed information about the 2017 Cadillac XT5, revealing its pricing and specifications for the U.S. market. The premium crossover launches in April and it starts from $38,995.
So let’s go ahead and call it 40 grand, seeing as there is a $995 destination charge to be added to that price. That forty grand buys you a base XT5 which is cool, if all you want is the fancy look of the crossover. But this car is a Cadillac after all, and a Caddy is all about luxury. So the one you model you should be is the 2017 Cadillac XT5 Platinum, priced from $62,500 and boasting features such as unique interior and exterior trim and materials, rear camera mirror, seven exterior colors and seven distinct interior environments.
Whichever version of the 2017 Cadillac XT5 you get, it will be powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine developing 310-horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque, featuring Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation technology. Standard transmission is an 8-speed automatic, but the advanced “twin clutch” all-wheel drive system is optional throughout the range.
“The arrival of this sophisticated new crossover positions Cadillac well, as XT5 enters the most popular segment in the global luxury market,” said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen. “It’s pivotal to our ongoing growth, which is why we’ve developed XT5 from the inside out to provide customers more space, more technology, more luxury and more efficiency.”
