McLaren Automotive announced its lineup for the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and in addition to the production lineup it includes a couple of really interesting one-off models. One is a unique 675LT we will get to in a separate post, and the other is this, a full carbon fiber McLaren P1 MSO.
The carbon P1 is an homage to the outgoing hyper car whose limited production run of 375 units recently came to an end. It is a customer project completed by the team at McLaren Special Operations and it goes on display at Geneva to showcase the craftsmanship and levels of tailoring offered by the division.
The carbon fiber McLaren P1 MSO has a hand-laid full carbon body with a bespoke ‘Lio Blue’ tinted lacquer and a gloss black finish to the wheels, an extensive re-trim of the interior with carbon black Alcantara and contrasting blue stitching, and a 24-carat gold exhaust heat shield in a homage to the McLaren F1. So in many ways this car is ultimate road-going P1 in terms of visual features.
McLaren has not mentioned any upgrades for the powertrain in this MSO model, which means the car has the standard 916bhp V8 twin turbo hybrid system as the other 374 P1s.
