The all-new and long-awaited Acura NSX has finally reached Jay Leno’s Garage for one of Jay’s famous once-over treatment which begins with a bit of history lesson, and continues with a discussion of the car’s features, culminating in a test drive around Burbank. This is sort of an infomercial, mind you, so they are not going to discuss the car’s drawbacks. And there are a few. We suggest you check out Motor Trend’s review if you want real consumer advice.

In this video Acura NSX head designer Michelle Christensen tells you the story of how the new super car came to be before Ted Klaus takes Jay out for a quick spin.

2017 Acura NSX launches in America this spring, priced at $156,000 for the base model and $205,700 for a fully loaded version. Both are powered by the same hybrid powertrain featuring a “Sport Hybrid Power Unit” consisting of a bespoke, mid-mounted twin-turbocharged, 75-degree 3.5-liter DOHC V6 engine with dry sump lubrication, mated to an all-new 9-speed dual clutch transmission (9DCT) and Direct-Drive Motor. It delivers 500 hp and 550 Nm torque.
