Porsche 911 R leak 0 600x414 at An Early Look at Porsche 911 R

One of the hottest cars yet to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show is new Porsche 911 R, a hard-core Carrera designed specifically for 911 purists with a 500 horsepower engine and a manual gearbox. So while we’re waiting for the official material to drop, let’s check out the looks of the car in these leaked photos.

Although Porsche 911 R may look to you like a regular 991 Carrera with some stripes painted on it, there are nuances that set this bad boy apart from the rest of 911’s extensive range. The R comes with the wide rear track of the C4S model, larger wheels and tires than regular models, GT3 front-end and its very own engine cover and graphics. Inside, you get classic tartan seats and a carbon gear knob.

Porsche 911 R is also considerably lighter than the regular 991 and features a super hot 500 horsepower flat-six engine. So you can think of this car as a manual GT3 RS, something the fans have been screaming about for a long time. It will be interesting to see what the R is like to drive and how does it fare against the PDK GT3 RS. At any rate, the R is not going to cause any trouble for the RS’ market, what with it being a limited edition model.

Stay tuned for more details on the 911 R over the coming hours.
